We are planning a trip to WDW and want to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. The last time he was at Disney was the first summer it was open, 1972!! We are not staying on property for this trip...do you have any ideas on how we can celebrate?

    Shannon,

There are so many ways to celebrate at Walt Disney World Resort and I think this visit deserves a very special celebration.

One of my favorite ways to celebrate a birthday is with a nice dinner at California Grill, located on the 15th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort.  Not only are you in for an amazing culinary experience, but you will also enjoy a breathtaking view of Magic Kingdom park, and, if you time it right, you can have a beautiful view of Wishes nighttime spectacular.  If you prefer something inside the parks, my next suggestion would be to head out to Epcot and enjoy dinner at one of the many amazing restaurants there (my personal favorite is Le Cellier Steakhouse).  Once dinner is done, be sure to enjoy a leisurely stroll around World Showcase and finish your night off with IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.  Dining reservations can be made online or by calling (407) 939-1947.

If you would like to do something a little unique, maybe dad would enjoy a fireworks cruise to mark his special day.  You can experience Illuminations: Reflections of Earth or Wishes nighttime spectacular with a unique and amazing view aboard a beautiful pontoon boat.  But the best part is that you can transform any cruise into a Celebration Cruise with balloons and a banner, and even order onboard feasts from Private Dining.  For more information, please call (407) 939-1929.

If dad prefers something a little more relaxing, you can't forget the many recreational activities Walt Disney World Resort has to offer including golf and fishing.   Finally, remember to pick-up a complimentary Celebration button for him, just stop by Guest Relations or any Vacation Planning Booth.

Shannon, the possibilities are endless but I am sure you will find the perfect way to celebrate.

    Happy planning!
