Hi Lori! Number 1 on my list would be Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. This restaurant is favored by a lot of guests. The food is good (American buffet breakfast and dinner) and you get to see the Disney "Fab 5" as I like to call them: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. My daughter has been there at 5 and 6, and my son at 1 and 2. It's a great setting for children (not quiet, which sometimes helps with the pre-schoolers, but not too loud either). What I also like is Chef Mickey's sitting area right outside the entrance. There's a TV and lounge-type furniture, a good place to go if one of the pre-schoolers happen to have a "meltdown." :-) Plus, you can't beat catching a glimpse of the monorail, which runs not too far from the restaurant.
Best wishes on your sons' first trip and dad's birthday!
