Planning 1st trip to WDW I booked the Caribbean Beach w/ the Pirate.. I am reading from past questions the Caribbean only has double beds and the Pirate beds also have the closed bottoms. My husband is 6'4 did the beds change yet or should I change resorts

Hi Kerri!  Hmmm that is an issue when you have double beds and tall people!  At this time the Caribbean Beach Resort does not have the queen beds.
My suggestion would be to see if there is availability in another moderate resort.  My choice would be Coronado Springs as they have been the one moderate to have queen beds for quite a long time.  This is a convention resort so they felt they needed that added amenity. The rooms are nice and the grounds are pretty and never seem crowded. That is one advantage of a convention resort as many of the guests will be in meetings or dinners so the pools and common areas are not filled during the day.  It is a large resort but has an internal bus system and you can also request a building close the main lobby area.

Another choice is Port Orleans where they are putting queen beds in all the rooms.  Most have been done but you would need to make sure you had that on your request for the reservation just in case. This is also a nice resort area as you are close to Downtown Disney and a short boat ride away. The French Quarter is a bit quieter in my book but both areas are full of great things to see and do.

The Caribbean Beach is actually my least favorite of all the moderates. It is on the older side and feels old sometimes in the rooms.  You don't have a main lobby building to walk to if there are issues and I always miss that opportunity to reach out to a cast member for help if need be.  I do think you would find the other resorts just as good if not better so see if there is room availability at one of them so your husband will be more comfortable!
