I am planning a trip to WDW in August 2011. I am debating on the dining plan and which one to get. It will be myself and my 4 yr old son. I am leaning towards the plus dining package, but wonder if I should upgrade to the 3 meals a day plan.

    Hello Kathy,

Sounds like you and your Buzz Lightyear are ready for a magical vacation!

I am a huge fan of the Disney Dining Plan (DDP). Looks like you are deciding between the basic and deluxe plans.

I like the basic DDP which consists of one table service meal, one quick service meal, and one snack for each night of your stay. And with each table and quick service meal, you get an entree, a dessert and a non-alcoholic drink.

For my family, we often plan for one big sit down meal daily. Be it a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's or dinner at Mama Melrose's, my family likes to make time to indulge in good food and enjoy each other's company. For the rest of the day, we often are grabbing a quick bite to eat between attractions so the snack and quick service options are perfect for us. That's all we have time for.

Now if you believe you and your son would like to try more than one sit down meal a day, then the deluxe dining plan may be best for you. With the deluxe DDP you also get an extra snack and refillable Resort mug.

Here's hoping your vacation - and your meals - take you infinity and beyond!

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
