    Hello! We are planning our 3rd trip to WDW in April 2016. We would like to be close to MK since we have a 7 and 5 yr. old. We are debating between WL and Poly? If you have any advice on pros and cons of each resort we would appreciate it. Thanks!

    THEME: Tie. With a 5- and 7-year-old, the theme at either is a win. If you have boys, Wilderness Lodge has an edge.

    POOLS: Tie. In April, you'll want to enjoy the pools and both resorts have great facilities, one with a geyser and one with a volcano. Pool renovations at each resort should be completed by your vacation. 

    ROOMS: Tie. This is where you can begin to see a difference, however, what you choose is your preference. The rooms at the Polynesian are larger than those at Wilderness Lodge and include a sofa that will turn into a comfortable single bed. If your children don't sleep well together, this is an easy solution. However, the bathrooms at WL have the edge with their sinks outside of the bathroom instead of being located inside at the Poly making drying hair or shaving more difficult.

    RESTAURANTS: Tie. Kona Cafe's breakfast vs. Whispering Canyon's comes out even while Ohana's all-you-can-eat beef and shrimp skewers slightly beats Whispering Canyon's all-you-can-enjoy cowpoke supper. This, helped by the Dole Whip at the new Pineapple Lanai at the Poly keeps Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge from tipping this category in favor of WL. 

    PROXIMITY TO PARKS: Poly. Nothing can beat the fact that the monorail comes to the Polynesian's doorstep whisking you away to the Magic Kingdom in less than 10 minutes. A short walk to the Ticket and Transportation Center can have you at Epcot in 15 minutes. While you can take the ferry from WL to MK, the bus transportation to the other parks just doesn't measure up.

    COST: Wilderness Lodge. Hands down. 

    If money is no object, the Polynesian wins in my book. However, if you're looking at cost, you have to ask yourself if the price difference between the two is worth the cost, which can be significant. You may have to sacrifice your castle view at the Poly to make it work.
