We are planning a trip to WD 5/30/11- 6/5/11. We haven't made any dining reservations and now we can't find availability. Two of the places we were looking into are Planet Hollywood and Chef Mickeys. Do you know if you can dine without reservations?

    Hi Susan,

Yes, reservations for the Table Service Restaurants at WDW are highly recommended as most of them are very popular and do fill up quickly.  I have on occasion been lucky enough to secure a reservation (from a cancellation) while on my trip, but this is not a common occurrence so I wouldn't count on it.  Chef Mickey's is a very hard one to get even when you are 180 days away from your arrival date, so I would keep trying by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 or through the online dining reservations system right up until you leave for your trip and you can even try calling from your WDW Resort room (even at that point, you may be lucky).

I have had more luck in getting reservations at Planet Hollywood in Downtown Disney as a walk up guest rather than at Chef Mickey's and I would think that would be your best bet for a hopeful chance in securing a reservation, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that you are able to get Chef Mickey's before your vacation dates arrive (I love eating there!).  Good luck!

    Best wishes,
