We are planning a trip for our granddaughter's 1st visit 2019. Want to stay at Port Orleans, Royal Room. My concern is I understand the rooms are a distance to transportation and food court. If this is true any suggestions on this issue, she will be 4.

    Welcome BACK, Linda!

How exciting that you're bringing your Grand-Mouseketeer to Meet Mickey and his pals! 2019 is going to be a great year to visit Walt Disney World Resort with so many exciting happenings.

I stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside in May with three of my best mom-friends and our collective five babies, all of whom were then under the age of three. While this is a large resort, it never took our crew more than 15 minutes to walk from some of the farthest (non-royal) rooms to the main building where the Front Desk, general store and dining options are located. We did use our strollers to cart our kids around the resort after our first walk, only because they have tiny little legs that didn't move too fast after busy Disney Days.

Here's a map of Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. The two buildings at the bottom right side (building 95 that looks like a fancy U and building 90 that looks like an H) are where Royal Rooms are located. It's about a 5-7 minute walk from these two buildings to the main resort building. The buildings can also easily access the East Depot bus stop (located to the right of building 90 and 85) as well as the bus stop just outside the lobby of the main building.

Pro Tip: Guests of Riverside are allowed to pool hop to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, where they have a really neat children's splash pool and play structure.

I hope this helped, Linda, and We'll See You in 2019!
