Nicole Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hi! I am planning a trip from the UK to WDW next year with my partner and 2 friends. Are we better to buy our tickets separately if we want to do different things on some days? Or can we have all tickets one the one booking but make different plans?

Hey Howdy Hey Nicole and welcome to planDisney!

Traveling to Walt Disney World Resort is such a Magical experience and so much better sharing the experience with friends and family. With larger parties or those with different interests, you might find yourself wanting to do things differently at times and is completely fine to do, even when in the same party. As my girls get older, we find ourselves doing just this. Sometimes in the parks, the older ones want to do one thing while my wife or I are with the younger one doing something completely different. That is one of the many benefits of Disney technology in the parks, not everyone has to be together all the time.

When buying the tickets, it is ok if you wanted to buy the tickets from one account. This matters most when it comes to the first-day purchase. As long as everyone wants to visit the same park on the first day, you are set as the prices for tickets vary depending on which park you want to visit. After purchasing the tickets, you will make your Theme Park Reservations. When making reservations for the parks, start with the full party. Make reservations for the parks you all want to visit together. On days apart, you can do this same step but update your party for just the ones visiting the park of their choosing.

On the days everyone is in the same park, as long as you have at least two people in your party with the My Disney Experience app linked, you will be able to do as much as you would like together as well as separate. For ease of planning, it helps to have two separate accounts at least to manage separate parties.

I'm sure you already know, but just a reminder of how handy the app can be comes with Mobile Food Order. Many locations throughout Walt Disney World have the option to mobile order food. Simply log onto the app, tap the three horizontal lines on the bottom right and you will see a tile for Mobile Food Orders. Follow the prompts and select arrival windows and when to have the Cast Members prepare your order. Super simple and fast and a great way to minimize your time waiting in lines for things you don't have to!

Best wishes on your continued planning and let us know if you have any further questions!

    Happy planning,

    Nick
