Hello! I am planning a trip for two weeks in late January/early February 2026 and really worried about ride closures, do you know which ride will be closed/under maintenance? Thanks so much

Welcome to planDisney, Alessia! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. I love that you're planning ahead for your 2026 Walt Disney World vacation. There's nothing quite like having a magical countdown to look forward to!

Late January and early February are fantastic times to visit. The holiday crowds have left, the weather is typically pretty comfortable, and it's a great opportunity to soak in all the magic at a slightly more relaxed pace. That said, it's also a popular time for annual refurbishments, since it's typically a quieter time of year.

As of right now, the only refurbishment we know of on the calendar for early 2026 is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom. It's currently undergoing a longer closure, and we expect it to still be closed during the timeframe you're planning to visit. While it's always a little sad to miss a favorite attraction, the good news is that most of the other big headliners are expected to be up and running!

We haven't heard about any other scheduled closures just yet, but don't worry. Disney typically posts upcoming refurbishments in the "Closed for Refurbishment" section of the Walt Disney World calendar. That's the best place to keep checking as your trip gets closer. Announcements about maintenance schedules usually start rolling out a few months ahead of time, so you'll have plenty of time to plan around them. Remember, even if a ride or two is temporarily closed, there's still so much to enjoy: parades, shows, characters, dining, and plenty of magical moments waiting for you around every corner.

    Have a magical day, Alessia!
