Hi Ashley!
Some guests love Walt Disney World Resort for the people watching. But I spend more time checking out the products other families have for their children. I have an almost 3-year-old and I've learned so much about what we need for the preschool years from going to Disney!
On the
Restricted Personal Items list of what is and isn't allowed in Disney's Theme Parks and entertainment districts, a Saddle Baby or similar product is not currently mentioned. You'll see parents get creative with how they carry, push or attach themselves to their children, and piggyback rides are completely fine. However, your child might be asked to dismount the saddle when in an
attraction queue, and obviously while enjoying a ride. The adults in your party wearing these gadgets will most likely also want to take them off when experiencing an attraction too, but these look like they're pretty compact. Also, there is no hard-set rule against shoulder sitting and fireworks watching, but if you plan to have your children on your backs during a fireworks show I would suggest either getting to your viewing spot early so other guests aren't surprised when they stand behind you, or standing in an larger area where there is a lot of room. (If viewing the Magic Kingdom Fireworks from Main Street U.S.A., there isn't much room to go to get around tall objects. But if you stand in front of Casey's Corner or the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor, those behind you could shift a little and still see just fine.)
Bonus Tips: Check out this really great planning guide for
preschoolers, and don't forget about the
Baby Care Centers.
