hi! planning 1st trip, trying not to spend more than $6k on 6 ppl. will we get all the disney magic at a value resort, and will we spend to much time on the buses(4 kids under 9) thank you so much, u will see me alot !!

Hi, Brandy!   Welcome to the Moms Panel!    I'm glad you came to us to help plan your first magical vacation.    I think the Value Resorts offer a lot for the money.   You receive airport transportation with Disney's Magical Express, transportation around the Disney property via buses, monorails, and boats, along with that all-important Disney Magic 24/7!  The pools are fun, there is a huge food court, and a lot of activity!

I have stayed in resorts of all categories, and have never really felt that the bus rides were any longer at the Value Resorts vs. Moderate or Deluxe.   (Unless of course you are at a Deluxe and going to a theme park via monorail or walking which is quicker.)   The transportation is quite efficient regardless of resort.

With 6 people at a Value Resort, you will need to either book 2 rooms (max of 4 guests per room) or book a Family Suite at All-Star Music which accommodates up to 6 guests.    Booking 2 rooms is generally a little more cost effective, but with the Family Suite you pick-up the kitchenette - your call on what will work for your party.

Other ways to cut costs:   book a Standard Room vs. a Preferred Room.   The rooms are identical, the Preferred Room simply puts you closer to the food court/main pool area.   When purchasing tickets, skip the park hopping option and the water park fun and more option.   While these are both great options and add them on if your budget allows, you can still have a bunch of fun without them.   Pack some items from home to save on spending:   bring refillable water bottles, rain ponchos, autograph books, and pens.   These are all items you either have at home or can purchase at a discount store for less than you will pay at WDW.   The little things can really save you some money!

    Have fun planning your vacation!
