Hi Maddie,
Welcome to planDisney!
Hooray for planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! Although you will need to chat with a Cast Member for an official answer regarding the
Disability Access Service, if your daughter is in a wheelchair, she may not qualify for the service. It is intended for Guests who cannot tolerate a traditional line. Guests in wheelchairs or Electric Conveyance Vehicles may be served in other ways. You can
chat with a Cast Member about the Disability Access Service prior to arrival. Review all of the
Services for Guests with Disabilities prior to arrival.
We have used the Disability Access Service when my husband needed surgery but was not in a wheelchair or Electric Conveyance Vehicle. He could walk and stand, but not for long periods of time. As you make your plans, also consider your resort hotel. Some of them are pretty spread out and it can be quite a distance to the main building. So, if your daughter is bringing her own wheelchair, she should be fine. You can request a room close to the main building. Try to make that request when doing
Online Check-in. If it is not an option to request, you can also call to speak to a Cast Member by phone to make that request.
Maddie, in looking at your arrival date, I am delighted to see that you are visiting during The
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort. This is a beautiful time of year to visit but also quite busy. Make sure you have
advanced dining reservations and that you have reviewed the details of
Disney Genie service! Happy Planning!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
