Hello Whitney! A winter getaway to the Walt Disney World Resort is a great idea! My brother and sister-in-law both went through medical school and I can remember the need for a little downtime to be so important to them! I can't think of a better place to escape to than Mickey and Minnie's Florida home!
One of the things that I appreciate most about the Walt Disney World Resort is that they have a resort for every budget! If savings is important, especially when going through medical school, then have a look at some of the value resorts offered. In this category, I recommend
Disney's Art of Animation Resort! This resort has a true Disney feel to it. In addition, the Disney Skyliner is accessible through this resort which makes transportation to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios much more convenient. Another option would be to book a moderate resort. In this case, I would recommend
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort for a relaxing getaway!
As far as which month to visit, there is no time like the present! I recommend that you take full advantage of the
Magic is Here vacation package that is available now! This special offer will result in some savings for you! Both Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort are included as options with this special offer. This package, which includes resort stay and theme park tickets, can be booked for most stays through December 25, 2020!
Whitney, you mentioned that you want to spend 3 to 4 days at
Magic Kingdom Park! While you certainly could spend that much time enjoying all that is to offer there, I strongly recommend that you take some of those days to enjoy the other three theme parks as well.
Disney's Hollywood Studios offers the nostalgia of Toy Story Land and the adventures of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
Disney's Animal Kingdom allows you to explore Pandora: The World of Avatar as well as the beauty of the African safari. At
EPCOT, you can explore the many countries of the world, along with the amazing food and drinks enjoyed in those countries!
I hope this answer was a good start to your vacation planning! Please come back to planDisney if you have more questions! We're happy to help!
