Planning trip 5/31-6/5. Where do you think the best place to watch the MK fireworks and the electric water pageant parade is? Hoping for a more relaxed, less crowded area than MK. Thanks - love the panel!

    Heather:

My husband LOVES to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach at Fort Wilderness!  Although it's not the spectacular view you'd find at one of the restaurants like Ohana or atop the Contemporary's California Grill, the relaxed setting (and did I mention FREE) more than makes up for it!

It's not difficult to get to from the other Magic Kingdom resorts or Magic Kingdom by ferry, and there are tables and chairs right off the pier on the beach.  We like to sit and relax there while the music for the fireworks is piped in!  If you've got the time, walk up a little ways to Pioneer Hall and Trail's End Buffeteria.  You can order their fried chicken, pizza, or wings via take-out (before 9:30 p.m.), and eat it at one of the beach tables while you wait.  There's also a playground nearby for the children!

Call Fort Wilderness ahead at 407-824-2900 and ask what time both the fireworks and water pageant begins, as they vary based on Magic Kingdom's schedule each night.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
