I am planning a trip for Thanksgiving and a trip in June. Thinking of an annual pass. Are there blackout dates for hotel discounts using an AP for Thanksgiving holiday weekend? Purchase AP before making hotel reservations? Want to make 180 day dine res.

    Hi Tamara,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’ve found that having an Annual Pass is a great way to experience even more magic at Walt Disney World Resort for an entire year. Part of the perks that I love are the discounts that are often available on merchandise and, as you point out, on stays in a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

While there aren’t “blackout” dates associated with Resort Hotel discounts, in my experience, they typically haven’t been available during busier times of year, such as Christmas week or, you guessed it, around Thanksgiving. Please visit the Special Offers page for more information about any offers that may be available for the days during which you’d like to visit. In order to see whether there are any special offers available for passholders during your visit, you’ll need to have your Annual Pass purchased and linked to your My Disney Experience account when visiting that page. You can visit a site like mousesavers.com in order to get a full list of any offers that may be available during your stay.

If you’re planning two trips to Walt Disney World Resort this year, including one during a time of year for which Annual Passholders may be eligible for a special offer on their stay in a Resort Hotel, I would recommend purchasing an Annual Pass. Depending on how many days you’re planning to stay for each trip, you’ll likely come out ahead, based on Theme Park admission alone!

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming vacations and please don’t hesitate to come back and visit us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
