I am planning a trip and would like to switch my magicband from my family account to a new account. I have deactivated the band and am trying to add it to the new account but it will not let me. Keeps saying there is an error. How do I do this?

Hey Howdy Hey David and welcome to planDisney!

MagicBands are such a great choice when on vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort. It is so convenient to have everything from your Theme Park Tickets, room key and charging privileges all in one place. Thank you for stopping by with your question about linking your MagicBand to a different account. I will be happy to give you more information on how to get this accomplished. Let's get to it!

When it comes to issues linking MagicBands or needing to change accounts they are linked to, this is a tricky process. The only way to get this done that I have had success with is to call Disney. You can speak to a Cast Member and let them know you wanted to link the band to a different account and they should be able to get this done quickly. Make sure you have the MagicBand handy when you call, the Cast Member will need the number on the back of it.

There is so much excitement happening in Walt Disney World this year that it makes it the perfect time to visit. Not only are we looking forward to the opening of the re-themed attraction Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom, but we also have a full summer's worth of celebration at EPCOT with most of the reimagining of the park being completed. Make sure to keep up with all of the latest news on Disney Parks Blog for your upcoming vacation.

I hope this helped give you the next steps to get your MagicBand linked to your new account. If you have any further questions, please feel free to let us know, we are always happy to help!

    Have a Magical day,
