We are planning a trip this Sunday the 28th, which is also my daughters first birthday ! I saw that the barber shop does the "my first hair cut" is it worth it ? Also, is there a age restriction ? thought it would be a cool experience ! Thanks

Hi there, Carly. Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel from a fellow Florida girl!

When my son was a baby, he had quite the head of hair on him. We decided we'd wait until his first birthday to cut his little locks (that were falling into his face). When the day came for that first haircut, we took him to Harmony Barber Shop at the Magic Kingdom and it was such a wonderful experience!

I wish I could post the pictures here of my son in the barber chair, covered with Mickey Mouse stickers and holding a Buzz Lightyear light-up toy to distract him. Miss Penny did such a great job making him feel comfortable while performing her magic on his hair. We ended up with a perfect little-boy haircut, a certificate, a lock of his hair, a Mickey Ear hat with "First Haircut" embroidered on the back, and the sweetest memory of this milestone event. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The only age restriction I see is that children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. My son was just a year old when we had his haircut at Harmony, so I know your little princess will be just fine.

I hope you have a wonderful time making this new memory with your daughter, Carly. Please stop by and see us again if you have any more questions.

    Have a magical day!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
