I am planning a trip for summer of 2011. Thinking about starting to purchase Disney gift cards now. Does anyone recommend paying for resort reservations with these?

Hi, Tara!  I have heard guests saving for their trips in many ways.  Purchasing Disney Gift Cards is a popular one!  They do not expire, but my biggest concern is always losing them!  So if you go this route, make sure to put them in a safe place.  On my last trip, I had several Gift Cards that I used to pay for part of our accommodations.  It was no problem to use them.

Just make sure a trip is in your future!  It would be a shame to have hundreds of dollars of gift cards and you end of having to change your destination or cancel.   You can also check with your local bank if they have some sort of no-fee savings account where you can save for your future Magical Vacation!

Good luck saving and hope to see you at WDW real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
