When planning our trip this summer with all the kids going for the first time, and the ages of the kids are 11, 7, 2,, and1, would you suggest any of the dinner shows like maybe mickey's backyard bbq. are there any you think would be better than others?

    Hi Billie,

My favorite dinner show with little ones in tow is, hands-down Mickey's Backyard BBQ, held seasonally at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.  The evening features an all-you-care-to-eat delicious meal (chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, corn-on-the-cob, beans, salad, mac n' cheese, watermelon, ice cream, are just a few offerings) and while you are eating, your family will a fabulous live country-western band and entertainment (line dancing, rope tricks), who are joined by some of Disney's finest (Mickey, Minnie, Chip n' Dale) on the dance floor.  The evening offers unprecedented access to the characters in my opinion, as kids (and adventurous adults) can "cut-a-rug" right along with their Disney pals. I have amazing pictures of my two boys dancing beside Minnie and Mickey at the BBQ when they were a bit younger, and they still list the evening as a Disney highlight.  In fact, my only "gripe" is that I had a hard time convincing my kids to sit and eat because they were having so much fun dancing!

The Spirit of Aloha Show is an authentic Polynesian Luau and another great choice, however, with a two and one-year-old, you are likely to enjoy the BBQ more.  The Hoop-De-Do Musical Revue is a country-western variety show, and is fantastic, but better suited for older kids in my opinion.

    Have a magical trip!
