We are planning a trip this summer and have the dining plan. Can we use Disney giftcards for gratuity or do we have to use a credit card? Also what about items the dining plan doesn't cover... (alcoholic drinks, appetizers)..can we use gc for that too?

    Hi Brandy,

I always bring Disney Gift Cards with me when my family travels to the Walt Disney World Resort! I recommend purchasing them at Target with a REDcard so that you can get a 5 percent discount on the Gift Card amount.

Disney Gift Cards can be used for pay for gratuities even if you are on the Disney Dining Plan. You can also use them for items that the Dining Plan does not cover. At the end of your meal you will scan your MagicBand to use the Disney Dining Plan entitlements and then you will need to tell your server that you want to pay for gratuities and any other items not covered with your Disney Gift Card.

    Enjoy Your Magical Visit,
