Lori:
I've stayed at Coronado Springs twice and see why some might say it has an adult-feel because it houses a Convention Hall on one end. However, the beautiful campus reminds me more of a resort in the Southwest with its stucco buildings circling a large lake, hammocks swinging from trees on the banks of the sandy shores!
What it may lack in Disney-theming, though, it makes up for in amenities. In my opinion, it has an authentic pool theme: a Mayan temple with a large slide right next door to a sizable playground that sports a boneyard—perfect for the ages of your children! The resort also features my favorite food court of any of the Moderates, the Pepper Market, so even picky eaters can find something!
The pluses of the other Moderates:
Caribbean Beach Resort offers Nemo-themed standard rooms and Pirate-themed rooms as preferred. Its pool has been recently renovated to include a zero-entry and a slide, perfect for aspiring pirates. The kiddie pool gets my vote for best-theme. Being from the South, you may find the theming of Port Orleans common.
Aligator Bayou's mossy atmosphere is casual compared to Magnolia Bend's more formal columned mansions. Port Orleans: French Quarter evokes a New Orleans Mardi Gras atmophere. Port Orleans' leg up is its boat to Downtown Disney—practically a ride and another theme park in the eyes of most children, especially if you spring for a sundae from Ghiradelli's!
Any you chose would offer a fabulous vacation, Lori. But if more visuals help, check out the pictures at www.allears.net under Accommodations.
WIshing you a magical vacation!
