Planning 2011 trip, stay at ASM. Grandson's 3, 6 & teenage nieces 13,15, 16 first trip! Total of 10, 2 adults only have 7 days, rest 10-12 days. Want to see the Atlantic, easier as a day trip or or should I plan a split stay?

Hi Julia, thanks for asking me your family's question! It sounds like you have the start of a great vacation planned with that many family members with you to enjoy Walt Disney World!

Having lived right near Disney World, I can tell you it is very easy to do a day trip to Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach or any of the nearby beaches of A1A. If you leave early in the morning, you can enjoy a full day of beach-side ocean-filled fun. It only takes about an hour to get there. However, IF your family are really into the beach and all the activities there, you could certainly split your stay if you'd like more time in the sand and sun.

Personally, I don't think you'll find a shortage of activities at Walt Disney World. With that many children, they'll probably want to be taking advantage of the rides and attractions again and again. I'm not sure if your family or your nieces are more into the beach than the parks, so it'd probably be best to see which they'd prefer...but again, my personal opinion is you can definitely enjoy the beach in one day trip if you're just looking to relax on the beach for a bit and jump in the ocean. Don't forget the great water parks at Disney too.

If this doesn't answer your question or you need more info, please come back and ask again, I'd be happy to help out in any way I can. Happy planning! ~Suzannah
