We are planning a trip for this spring, first time there for our children. Our children will be 11, 9 and 5. Our 5 year old is pretty little, would she be able to sit between us or would we have to have 2 cars? Thanks!

Hello, Melanie! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question!

Yay! I am elated that you are planning your first trip to the Disneyland Resort! I have a family of three and when my daughter was smaller, we found that there were lots of attractions that could accommodate all three of us in a ride vehicle or a single row of a ride vehicle. These included Peter Pan’s Flight, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, Golden Zephyr, The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, and more. Then of course there are other attractions that will accommodate your entire family like Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, “it’s a small world,” Soarin’ Around the World, and Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.

When you board an attraction, a Cast Member will ask how many are in your party and then how you would all like to ride. They will let you know if they think the three of you will fit in the vehicle comfortably or not. Your two older children can ride together or by themselves if they wish.

One last tip…if your youngest is at least 40” tall and your family would like to ride Splash Mountain, you will notice that most of the log is single seating. However, the very back seat of the log will accommodate two people so your 5-year-old can sit with one of you in the back if that makes you more comfortable.
