We're planning a trip for Spring Break 2017, our first time and girls will be 4 & 8 yrs old. In trying to choose a hotel, I want them to be wowed but not spend a fortune, any recommendations?

    Hi Molly,

I am so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your very important question. Choosing a resort hotel is one of the most important first steps in the planning process, so you have come to the right place.

I think I have the perfect recommendation for you. One of my personal favorite resort hotels is Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. The southern charm of its theming offers a relaxing backdrop for the parents and they offer "royal rooms" that could bring the wow factor to your little princesses. These rooms are a special category when booking, so if you are interested, be sure to book your reservation with this room type. They are themed to look as if you a royal guest of Princess Tiana with regal furnishings and special princess touches you won't find at any other resort. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is also a moderate level resort that is budget friendly with a few more amenities than the value resorts. Boatwright's Dining Hall is the table service restaurant that offers Cajun favorites like jambalaya and crawfish etouffee. Ol' Man Island is their main pool area that is fashioned after an old-fashioned swimming hole and fun for the entire family.

While I think you would really love this resort, another option is the value resort Disney's Art of Animation Resort. The bright and colorful atmosphere based on different animated Disney classics has a Little Mermaid section. The rooms feature favorite characters from the movie and the bathroom tub/shower area looks like Ariel's treasure trove of whozits and whatzits galore.

I hope this helps you get started and feel free to stop back with more questions as they come up in your planning process. We'd love to offer more assistance.
