Planning a trip to spend Christmas at Disney and we are a group of 7 (3 generations). Is there any packages available that includes tickets to the parks and a suite at one of the resorts. Also is Disney still doing the shuttle service to the airport?

    Hi Amanda,

Welcome to planDisney! Planning a trip with three generations? WOW. Hearing this makes me smile from ear to ear!

As you start to price out your vacation package, keep checking the Special Offers. Last year, there was a holiday offer announced on the Disney Parks Blog so keep your eye on the blog. When using a special offer, just search the Disney Resorts Collection on the Walt Disney World Resort website for the dates of your visit and, if the special offer is applicable, you should be able to select it in your search.

We visited just before Christmas this past year. The Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort are simply gorgeous. We had the best time and even braved Magic Kingdom on Christmas day. Several resorts offer suites or villas. On our visit with the girls' grandparents one year, we stayed in a 2 Bedroom Villa at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. My family also loved the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on our last visit. The walking path to Magic Kingdom was amazing. And, the year prior we stayed at Disney's BoardWalk Villas in December. We loved being able to walk to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

As long as your trip occurs prior to the start of 2022, you should be able to enjoy Disney's Magical Express® service from Orlando International Airport. My family loves this service. It feels as if the magic begins the moment we board the shuttle bus. Give yourself at least two hours to deplane, pick up any checked bags, and get to the resort hotel.

Once you reserve that vacation package, be sure to create a My Disney Experience account so that you can link that package to your account. Once your package is linked, you will need to make Disney Park Pass system reservations for everyone in your party. It is imperative that you make those park pass reservations well before your trip since you are traveling at a busy time of year and parks could reach capacity.

While you wait for new Special Offers to be released, I recommend that you go ahead and price out a vacation package at a few different resorts that have suites or villas. If you find a resort hotel with a suite or villa that sounds perfect for your family, you may want to reserve it. I missed reserving a room once because I was waiting on a special offer to be released and by the time the offer came out, all of the rooms in the category I wanted were booked. Once a special offer is released, you can try to modify that vacation package to see if the new special offer can be applied to your stay. There is no guarantee that it can be applied, but I have had luck in the past!

Amanda, I am sending you lots of pixie dust as you store up your patience and take charge of planning the magic!

    Magic and memories,
