Hi! We are planning a trip with my son in the last week of January, which happens to be days before he turns 3. I heard they ask for an official ID of the child in order to make sure he is still under the age of 2. Is this true? Thank you!!

Hi, Eli! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question!

Your son is at such a fun age to take to the Disneyland Resort! The magic really comes alive for kids at this age and you will delight in seeing all the joy they will experience as they ride attractions and meet some of their favorite characters. Children under 3 years old do not require a theme park ticket to enjoy the Disneyland Resort and no official form of identification is required to prove your child's age. A Cast Member might ask you how old he is, but that is all they will ask. I've been taking my daughter to the Disney Parks since she was 18 months old and have never been asked to prove her age. Also, she has always been very tall and mistaken to be older than she was and we have never had a problem.

Before you visit, I recommend measuring your son, with his shoes on, so you know just how tall he is. Around this age, children start to meet the height requirements on some attractions that have 32" and 36" height restrictions. Once you know his height, you can filter the attractions page by height to see the list of attractions available to him.

I hope this helps! Have a fabulous visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
