Hello, I am planning a trip for my sister who has terminal brain cancer and her 5 year old daughter. How do I plan for special accommodations like a wheelchair? Are there cool off places? We understand the mask mandate and love that part.

Welcome to planDisney, Aaliyah. I’m so glad you dropped by with your questions about planning this special trip for your sister and her daughter.

Aaliyah, first to your question about wheel chair rentals, let me point you to this page that provides an overview about Special Services for Guests with Disabilities. Here you’ll find information not only about wheelchair rentals, but ECV rentals (in case that is preferable), the Disability Access Service and downloadable guides for each theme park. As you are planning, I encourage you to bookmark this page so that you can continue to refer to this information.

Aaliyah, as you are thinking ahead to your park days and planning where you can cool off (out of the hot Florida sun), I’m glad to share that you’ll find a variety of inside shows that make a great escape from the temperatures and provide entertainment as well. At Magic Kingdom Park, two great options are Mickey’s PhilharMagic and Country Bear Jamboree. Both of these shows are over 10 minutes and are in an air-conditioned setting. Around the World Showcase at EPCOT, check out Beauty and the Beast Sing-AlongCanada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 and Reflections of China (all over 10 minutes and in an air-conditioned setting). At Disney's Hollywood Studios, I recommend the For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. This show is approximately 30 minutes of air-conditioned laughter for both kids and adults.

Aaliyah, if you're hoping to find a few spots to cool off that are more conducive to chatting and not attractions, you'll find relaxation stations at each park where you are able to remove masks (while maintaining physical distancing). The following locations offer an air-conditioned space:
    - Pete's Silly Side Show at Magic Kingdom Park
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at EPCOT
    - Pizzafari at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park
    - Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Aaliyah, I hope this information helps as you continue planning. Here at planDisney we are honored to assist in any way that we can and hope that you'll come on back with additional questions. Aaliyah, I'll be wishing on a star for you that this trip brings joy and moments of Magic during such a difficult time.
