Hi all! Planning trip for Sept/Oct 2012.Can get discount tix(5d PH, 7d PH or 10d PH) from my employer. My ? is if I get discount tix & book room at POP separate, can I change that to a MYW if free dining is extended to that time frame? Thx for your help

Hi Rachel! I'm always looking for ways to save money on my Walt Disney World vacations too, and I often buy my park tickets from vendors other than Disney for that reason. However, in order to get the Free Dining Plan, you have to book a package that includes a stay in a Disney resort hotel and theme park tickets bought from Disney as part of the package. If you purchase your park tickets from your employer, you wouldn't be able to use them in conjunction with a Disney resort reservation to get Free Dining.

The most recent Free Dining offer required a minimum purchase of two days of park tickets, so if you wanted to take advantage of a similar offer next year (assuming there is one) you'd have to book a package with at least a few days of tickets. I don't know how good your employer's ticket prices are, but I expect the price difference is not great enough to justify buying tickets from your employer and an additional two days worth from Disney to get Free Dining. Thus, if you're really hoping for such a deal next fall, you may want to wait on purchasing your park tickets.

Have a magical vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We'd love to help!
