We are planning a trip in September. We are staying at the Wilderness lodge, and I have reservations for breakfast at the Contemporary (Wave) the first morning. Do we really have to take a bus to Downtown Disney just to go to the Contemporary?

While Downtown Disney can be used as a transfer hub between resorts, in this instance, you have much  better choices!

There is a boat that will take approximately 20 minutes en route to reach the Contemporary Resort from the Wilderness Lodge. The Blue Flag route runs clockwise on Bay Lake between Contemporary Resort, Wilderness Lodge and Ft. Wilderness. The Red Flag route goes between the Wilderness Lodge and the Magic Kingdom.

You can bus to the Magic Kingdom and then walk (or monorail) over to the Contemporary. Both travel options will take approximately 25-30 minutes en route.
