Hi Lori,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge are a lovely place to stay, with a an immersive and quiet theme of railroad hotels in the nineteenth century. It is amazing to feel so whisked away to another time and place!
Since I have not eaten at the
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant myself, I asked some of my fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelists for their thoughts on this restaurant for you and your young children. The consensus seems to be that while it is not loud, you do need to consider your children and what might frighten them. There are some video clips that play that may be scary for your little ones, including some with spiders. If your children tend not to get frightened, it could be perfectly fine, but if you know that you have very sensitive little ones, you might want to skip this restaurant until they are a little older. I have been told that if you do visit this restaurant, be sure to order a milkshake - they are apparently phenomenal!
Let me offer a couple of other dining options in Disney's Hollywood Studios. When my daughter was younger, we loved a visit to
Hollywood & Vine, where in the morning children can dance and sing with their favorite Disney Junior characters, and at night Minnie Mouse and her friends visit to celebrate the seasons. My family also truly enjoys
Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano, with comforting Italian food and a homey ambiance.
Please do let us know if you have any further questions, Lori!
