Welcome Home, Traci!
And a great big beautiful welcome to planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. How exciting that you are planning a Disney trip using your
Disney Vacation Club Membership!Traci, the first thing to note is your
Use Year. Right now, we are in the 2025 Use Year (except for those Members who have a
November or December Use Year who are in their 2024 Use Year until the first of their respective months, when they will receive their 2025 Vacation Point allotments.) So, for example, I have an October Use Year, and on October 1st, I received my Vacation Points for 2025. If I were to book a trip now or any time before October 1, 2026, I would be using my 2025 Vacation Points, and if I Borrow Vacation Points, I would be Borrowing from my 2026 Vacation Points.
So, whether you are using your 2025/26 Vacation Points or your 2026/27 Vacation Points will depend on your Use Year and when you book your vacation. If, for example, you have January Use Year, and you wait until January 2026 to book your September 2026 vacation, then in that case, you would be using your 2026 Vacation Points and
Borrowing from 2027 as needed.
When it comes to
Borrowing Vacation Points, you can Borrow all of the available Vacation Points from the next Use Year, and the system will only Borrow as many as you need to book the vacation. But, there are a few things you need to know.
Borrowing Vacation Points can only be done at the time of confirming a reservation. You Borrow Vacation Points online when reserving your Disney Vacation Club Resort or by calling Member Services. Be aware that Borrowing transactions are final; your Borrowed Points stay in the current Use Year, even if you need to cancel the reservation. If you find yourself in need of additional Points, you may also purchase 24 additional One-time-use Vacation Points per year.
If you have questions about your Use Year or need help planning the vacation, I recommend calling
Member Services. They can look into your account and assist you with making sure you are maximizing your Vacation Points to enjoy your dream trip. You can also stop back here with more questions, because you've got a friend in me.
Magically Yours,
Keri
