Planning a trip Sept 26-Oct 1. Trying to plan our meals so we are ready for 180 day mark. We will have DDP. If we want to go to dinner shows, will our DDP cover those reservations or will a deposit still be required at the time of booking reservation?

Hi Chad, Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel! I just spoke with Disney Dining to verify this information.

With the Disney Dining Plan, if you are planning on reserving Dinner Shows you are able to book Category 2 seating. If you want Category 1, you will need to pay for those meals separately. For the Category 2 seating at the Shows, you will need a credit card to hold the reservation. It is a guarantee only, and it will not be charged.

For the Fantasmic Dinner Package, you will also need a credit card to guarantee the reservation, but it will not be charged (unless you do not cancel and do not show up).

Hope this helps. Enjoy making your reservations, that is always one of my favorite parts of planning our trip!
