We are planning a trip in Sept. and as DVC members have a chance to go to Moonlight Magic in HS. My mom can watch our 3 year old and they can stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge so husband and I can be alone or we can bring them both along. What would you do?

    Hello Nina,

Thanks for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and hello to a fellow NJ Disney fan!

I’m excited for you and your September trip to Walt Disney World, and I’m especially excited that you’re thinking about taking in the after-hours fun at Moonlight Magic. My wife and I are attending Moonlight Magic at Magic Kingdom Park next month, and we are so looking forward to it.

What’s super exciting about the Moonlight Magic event scheduled for Disney's Hollywood Studios is that Toy Story Land is scheduled to open. Personally, I can’t wait to go play in Andy’s backyard!

The Moonlight Magic Special Events take place after regular park closing hours. For example, the Moonlight Magic event I’m attending next month is scheduled from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.  As an attendee, you can enter the park a bit earlier in the evening.

I think the best answer to your “what would you do” question really depends on your little one, their bedtime routine, and how they handle changes to their familiar schedule. One option to consider is to get an earlier evening start so you can all enjoy the park together and see how it goes, and then your mom and little one could return to your resort while you and your husband stay to enjoy the full event.

Be sure to visit the Disney Vacation Club website for updated information on the Moonlight Magic Special Events.

    Enjoy your stay!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
