We are planning a trip to the Saratoga Springs Resort. There is a $2000 difference in the Preferred Villas over the Standard Villas. Can someone tell me what the difference is and if it's worth the additional money spent.

    Hi David,

I am happy to hEAR you are planning an upcoming visit at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, which just happens to be one of my "Home" Resorts with Disney Vacation Club. This stately and handsome Resort with green manicured lawns and luscious landscaping is a very peaceful and relaxed place to unwind and recharge after a day touring the Theme Parks.

Preferred Villas are located in either The Springs or Congress Park areas of the Resort. The Springs is closest to The Carriage House where main reception and check-in is located, as well as The Artist's Palette, a quick service restaurant and general store and The Turf Club Bar & Grill. Villas located in Congress Park are closest to the newly enhanced Disney Springs, where you will find a plethora of unique shopping, dining and entertainment options. Disney Springs is truly a destination in and of itself and is always a "Must-Do" for my family each trip.

I am uncertain as to when and how long you are planning to stay and the type of room accommodations you require, but the price difference you have indicated for upgrading from Standard to Preferred appears high. You may wish to contact Disney Reservations to verify the price point. Assuming that the upgrade would total $2,000 as you have stated, I would personally choose to book a Standard Villa.

If you decide to book a Standard Villa, you will be located in either The Paddock, The Carousel or The Grandstand areas of the Resort. The Paddock is my personal preference, which is only about a five minute walk to The Carriage House, where you can also pick up a water taxi to Disney Springs.

Whichever option you chose, I wish you a magical upcoming vacation!
