We are planning a trip for 10 people in July. We will be at Disney World for one day only and not staying at a resort. I was wanting to get the Memory Maker so we can all get out pictures, but it looks like you need to link that to a magic band to scan aft

    Emily:

You do not have to stay on Disney property in order to enjoy Memory Maker and you don't need a Magic Band to get your group and ride pictures. Here's how:

When you have your first picture taken, whether you have a MagicBand or not, you can ask the Disney photographer to include your picture on a Photo Pass card that looks like a credit card. The card is free. Additionally, if you ride an attraction that takes a picture during the ride, you can see the cast member at the end of the ride near the video screens to download your ride picture to your card. A little time consuming but doable.  When you wear a Disney MagicBand, your ride photos automatically will load to your Photo Pass account "magically" and you do not have to keep up with a Photo Pass card or see a cast member.

So it's up to you: purchase a MagicBand and relax or use the Photo Pass card. Yes, all resort guests receive a MagicBand for free, however, one can also be purchased at many locations both in the parks and in many resort gift shops if you decide you would like your day to be more relaxed.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
