Hi, Rachel! I see that you're planning a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth next yEAR, and you'll be there at the perfect time to experience the magic of
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge!
Pluto will be happy to know that you'll be bringing along a furry friend with you!
Service animals are welcomed at most locations throughout Walt Disney World theme parks and Resort hotels. A few Walt Disney Resort hotels have designated
dog-friendly accommodations; although service animals are not limited to these resorts, I'd recommend staying at one of them due to the fact that they have easy access to outdoor walkways and green spaces.
My personal favorite is
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. Being from the south, I feel like I'm back home in Louisiana when I'm here, with the stately mansions in the Magnolia Bend section to the more rural backwoods cottages in Alligator Bayou. Room refurbishments are currently going on, but they should be completed by the time of your stay. Another great reason to stay here is
Yehaa Bob Jackson, who is a Disney entertainer with a huge fan base. His nightly show includes singing, piano playing, and comedy at the River Roost Lounge. When you call to book your stay, make sure to request adjoining rooms (never guaranteed, but Disney does their best), and if you need an
ADA compliant room, have this noted on your reservation.
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort would be another terrific option for your family, especially since the accommodations sleep up to six Guests. The recently updated cabins have a living room with a sleeper sofa, a bedroom with a queen bed and bunk beds, a full bathroom, private patio, and a kitchen. Disney describes this as "Roughing it in Comfort," and the resort is set on 750 acres of pine and cypress forest- perfect for your pooch!
I hope this helps, Rachel! Please come back and visit us again if you have any more questions. See ya' real soon!
