Hey there Candace,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for this question! It's always a pleasure to get to answer a question from a fellow Arizonan.
The Disneyland Resort is deeply committed to providing welcoming, inclusive, and accessible experiences for Guests! I was excited to see recently that they updated the
accessibility page to now include guides, resources, and tools to help plan the perfect vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth for people of all abilities. If you haven't seen it yet, make sure to check it out as you continue to plan!
With these updates, the Disneyland Resort is also narrowing the focus of the
Disability Access Service (DAS) to be specifically for Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time.
According to the DAS page under the "Step 1: Register" section, it says "DAS registration maximum party size is the registered DAS Guest and up to 3 additional party members, for a total of 4 people." You'll definitely want to keep this in mind as you continue to plan your trip and schedule you registration call for the service as soon as 30 days in advance of your park visit.
Additionally, I'm including a video that my planDisney pal, Alejandra, and I did last year covering the reimagined
Mickey's Toontown, which includes all kinds of fantastic accessible experiences for your little Mouseketeer. This land also includes my favorite quiet spot to help regulate if the park gets a bit overstimulating! Just go all the way in the back corner of this land for a quieter and more secluded spot - we talk about it in the video as well.
Thanks again for your question, Candace! I hope you enjoy your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth later this year.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
