I am planning a trip to the park in September and bringing an 8 year old. What is the best hotel accommodation on the resort for a child of this age group?

Hi LaShonda! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Traveling with your eight year old sounds like it is going to be so much fun!  This age is so fun and often times they are really into all of the rides! I love traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort in September. The crowds typically tend to be a bit lighter with the schools being in session.

Our favorite resort is Disney’s Pop Century Resort. This resort hotel is so kid friendly. The colors are bright, the theme is so fun and will even transport you back to your childhood, and the Hippy Dippy Pool is a place that our family has made so many amazing memories. We love that the food court has so many food choices and I can get lost in the gift shop. My kids are huge fans of the arcade and we love that we do not have to share the buses with other resort hotels. On select nights you can even watch movies under the stars by the Hippy Dippy Pool.

One of my favorite things about this resort is that it is considered a “value resort.” This means that it is much more cost effective for my family; however I have never felt that I was staying at a value resort. I always feel like it is so much more. The cast members have always been welcoming and friendly and the resort is spotless.

I hope that you have a magical vacation! Be sure to visit us again with any other planning questions! We are always excited to help!
