We are planning a trip with my parents in May 2022, my father will be using an ECV to get around the parks. However, he can’t stand in lines for long periods of time, what options do we have for the lines? Can we bring a cane that has a small seat attached

Hiya Megan! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks so much for stopping by. I am pleased to hear that you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World with your parents next year! You must be so excited.

Many helpful services and access options are available for Guests with mobility disabilities all around the Disney Parks! In fact, the Walt Disney World website conveniently outlines all attractions according to the access category. In addition, you’ll notice that access is according to which attractions allow boarding with ECV or wheelchair and which ones require transfer. Regardless, as long as he has a disability access card, which you can obtain on your first Theme Park day by visiting Guest Services, he will not have to stand in lines.

Walt Disney World is incredibly ECV friendly, and I am sure your father will have a much more comfortable and enjoyable time because of it. ECVs can be rented within the Theme Parks or at Disney Springs ECV Rentals | Walt Disney World Resort (go.com), or you may choose to rent from a preferred local provider in the Orlando area. Make sure to check out this Guide For Guests with Disabilities, and do not hesitate to contact the Disability Services department with any further questions or needs that you may have!  They can be reached at (407) 560-2547 or by email at disability.services@disneyparks.com.

Megan, I hope that this information helps you continue to plan an incredible family vacation for yourself and your loved ones! If you have any further questions about your next Disney getaway, do not hesitate to come back to see us again! It would be our pleasure to help you keep planning and dreaming.

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Clara
