Hello. We are planning a trip to one of the water parks for the first time. My son will just have turned 7 years old. Is one park better for this age group? The rest of us are me, my sister and our 72 yr old mom. Thanks

    Hi there Kathleen!

One of the first water parks I ever visited was Typhoon Lagoon when it first opened! I do love a great water slide and both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach have amazing theming and slides! I have both a nine and five year old and they have both been to each water park and each loves a little bit of both. I personally think Blizzard Beach would be a great park for your son because I think it's kids area has a little bit more that Typhoon Lagoon..

I'm not knocking Typhoon Lagoon because it's MY favorite and the gigantic wave pool, Shark Reef, and Crush 'n' Gusher are all fantastic! It's just my opinion with the kids areas...

At Blizzard Beach there are two separate areas where the kids can play. Ski Patrol Training Camp
and Tike's Peak. My son had a great time at the Tike's Peak area but graduated to the Ski Patrol Training Camp area after an hour or so of doing the little slides. I don't think your son would get much enjoyment out of Tike's Peak area but he should enjoy Ski Patrol Training Camp... I'm sure by the end of the day, he'll be riding all of the adult rides he is tall enough to ride! I hope this helps with your planning. Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel. Have a great time at the Walt Disney World Resort!!
