We are planning a trip for 2013. One of my sons & his family want to stay at art of animation resort, but the rest of us don't. Since I will be paying, do I have to be present at check in or can I go straight to my own resort hotel?

    Hi there Helen.

How very kind of you to cover the cost of your son's accommodations at Disney's Art of Animation Resort!
If you are the primary reservation holder and you are providing your credit card as payment for the room charges then yes, you will need to be present at check-in to show a photo id and sign off on guest documents.

However, if you complete online check-in up to 10 days prior to the start of your vacation, you'll find the process of obtaining those Key to the World Cards (Room Keys) will be greatly expedited. If you aren't in a rush to leave, I'd highly recommend exploring this brand new resort's whimsically themed grounds and gift shops. There are plenty of great photo opportunities as well for you to enjoy with your son and his family!

Thanks so much for visiting us here at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel! Please feel free to send more questions my way in the days leading up to your trip!
