Hi Tabitha! What a GREAT name you have!
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a spooky blast! I have fond memories of my son Trick-or-Treating his way around Magic Kingdom Park dressed up as Buzz Lightyear. Make sure to grab a special event Park Map when you enter the party, so you'll know where each Trick-or-Treat location is.
At this separate ticketed event, you'll find different Character meet-and-greets than you normally see in the theme parks. Some will even be dressed in their own Halloween costumes! If meeting characters is a top priority for your family, you'll want to get in these lines early as they can get quite long. Personally, my family prefers to take advantage of the (generally) shorter lines for attractions. We are able to walk right on to many of the rides with little to no wait, especially towards the end of the evening. And of course, we take breaks to fill our bags with candy!
Whatever your strategy, make sure not to miss Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade and the Happy HalloWishes Fireworks Show. Both are unique to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and are fantastic! The Parade begins with a ride by the Headless Horseman, so have your camera ready!
I have always found that the
water taxi to Disney's Wilderness Lodge is running after the party. If for any reason it isn't operating that night, there will be bus transportation back to your resort hotel.
In 2017, tickets became available in May for the party. Since we don't know exactly when tickets will be offered this year, I suggest keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for more information.
Enjoy your trip!
Tabitha
