    We are planning a trip for October 2013..Question one when will they come out with specials? Question two October 14th is Columbus Day what days crowd wise do you think would be best to come October 9-14 or 11-16?

    Hi Julie!

    October is one of my favorite months to visit Walt Disney World!  The slightly cooler weather, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival are just a few reasons this is a great time to visit!

    Columbus Day weekend will usually draw slightly higher crowds since families like to take advantage of the extra day out of school.  I would suggest visiting October 9-14, this way you will get to enjoy lower crowd levels a few days before the weekend.  The weekend is sure to draw more crowds and some guests will choose to stay a few days after Columbus day, making those days a little more busy than the days preceding Columbus Day Weekend.

    While there is no way to know for certain when and what discounts will be available for October, historically discounts have been announced in late July and early August.  Once you know your exact dates and pick your resort, I would suggest to go ahead and book your vacation.  When the discounts are released, just give your travel agent or Disney Travel Company a call at (407) W-DISNEY to have the discount applied to your reservation.  As long as you meet the requirements for the discount, it should be no problem adding it to your reservation.  Be sure to check back with us and Disney's Special Offers page for the latest discount information.
