"Welcome home," Angela and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Angela, as a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member, I love trying out different Disney Vacation Club Resorts and I'm thrilled to help you find the perfect fit for your October trip.
Since the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, my family and I were able to "try out"
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort,
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village and
Disney's Old Key West Resort. Each of these properties had open pools and Community Halls with activities available. We also found that afternoons at each pool were fun with Cast Members leading pool activities (with physical distancing and the new enhanced cleaning and safety protocols in place).
Now, if you are looking to do some shopping, I would highly recommend Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort as you are able to use the walkway bridge to Disney's Contemporary Resort and enjoy
Bayview Gifts, Fantasia and Fantasia Market.
Angela, if you're hoping to channel your inner explorer, I'm happy to report that at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village, all of the animal overlooks were open with Cast Members outside to help answer questions! My youngest son and I enjoyed "hopping" from one lookout post to the next as the giraffes walked the savanna.
Speaking of exploring, if you're interested in touring beautiful grounds, Disney's Old Key West Resort is currently renting bikes and surreys! Just stop by
Hank's Rent 'N Return located near the Sandcastle Pool.
Angela, while things are a bit different as the Walt Disney World Resort is still in its phased reopening, I can tell you firsthand that the Magic is still there and waiting for you. I hope my experience at these resorts helps as you're selecting your "home away from home" for your October vacation. Wherever you choose, I hope that Tinker Bell works her Magic and sprinkles some pixie dust over your trip. Please come back and see us here at planDisney with any other questions you might have!
