We are planning a trip in October, 2016. We are a family of 6. Wondering what you'd recommend, Art of Animation Family Suite or the Cabins at Fort Wilderness? Need to know the best place to stay.

Hi Suzanne! Congratulations on planning for a fall Walt Disney World vacation. It is one of my favorite times of year to visit with the weather changing to cooler temperatures and the excitement of the fall holidays.

Both the Family Suites at the Art of Animation Resort and the Cabins in the Fort Wilderness Resort offer accommodations for families of six. They will be quite different experiences and offer different amenities.

If your children are older you might enjoy being at the Art of Animation suites for the reason that there will be two full bathrooms. There is a separate bedroom with the queen bed and the rest of the sleeping beds are in the living area. There is also a small kitchenette. The Art of Animation is a Value resort but offers a great state of the art pool for you to enjoy and a great food court.

The cabins will be a completely different experience being located in the woods among pine trees. Your cabin is completely separate for any other so it is quite peaceful and private. There is one bedroom which holds a queen bed and bunk beds. There is also the sofa bed in the living area. The biggest difference is that there is only one large bathroom versus having two for your family. The cabins also have a fully equipped kitchen so you can prepare meals and enjoy them together in your "room". They also come equipped with a grill and picnic table on the deck.

My family loves the cabins and we love being able to see the deer and turkey roaming the loops of Fort Wilderness. Both locations are wonderful and if you feel that the second bathroom is a must then go with the Art of Animation. It is a tough decision but no matter what you decide you will have a great Disney vacation this fall.
