Planning a trip for October 2016 for our daughters 8th birthday. I heard WDW does packages ? What are they ? How far in advance can you book your resort & tickets. How does the payment plan work ?

    Hello SheriAnn!

What a magical celebration your little princess is sure to have with a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort for her special day!  I am sure it will be a memory you both will cherish forever.  You are correct, Walt Disney World does have vacation packages available.  They are a wonderful way to combine all of the benefits of an on-property resort stay, with your theme park admission tickets and the ability to add a dining plan. Perfect for easy planning and making dreams come true!  You can make a room only reservation 499 days prior to arrival, but vacation packages are usually released in the summer the year before.  (Your applicable dates would be released in the summer of 2015.)  If there is a hotel you would really prefer to stay at, you can book a room-only reservation and then update it to a package once they have been released.  I also suggest keeping an eye on the Special Offers page for discounts or deals available as your dates get closer.  Currently, vacation packages require a deposit at booking and payment-in-full 45 days prior to your vacation date.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with in planning your Fairy Tale visit!  Have a wonderful day, SheriAnn.

    Magical Wishes,

Hi-ya, Pals! I'm a wife and mother of three who's enjoyed many special occasions at Walt Disney World Resort with my family: graduations, pregnancies, birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, reunions, and even our Fairy Tale Honeymoon. I look for any excuse to return "home" often and would love to help add a little extra Pixie Dust to your next magical adventure. Learn More About Lauren
