We are planning a trip in October 2008 around our daughter's first birthday. Is there any thing special you would suggest we do?  Also do the parks or hotels do anything special for the birthday child?

First birthdays are so special and celebrating in WDW will be truly memorable!

Stop in at Guest Services in City Hall at the Magic Kingdom and ask for a birthday button. Tell your hostess and server at every place that you dine that your daughter is celebrating her birthday. Magical things will often happen. For instance, Chef Mickey’s brings a complimentary cupcake although personalized cakes can be ordered at an additional fee.

If you are staying at a WDW resort, call the operator and ask for the birthday message. You might hear a Goofy birthday wish. Have the birthday noted on your reservation and remind the Cast Member at Check In. Our son received balloons and an autographed picture from Mickey Mouse at the All Star Movies. This is not a guarantee but Cast Members try to sprinkle as much magic as they can.

If your daughter loves Princesses, I would try to have a character meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table. If she enjoys Pooh and his friends, try The Crystal Palace. Both of these restaurants are in the Magic Kingdom. Happy Birthday!
