We are planning a trip in Oct of 2012, is that a good time to visit? Also, how will crowds, and prices be? We hope to spend ten days at the parks.

    Hi Selina!

I think October is a great time to visit Walt Disney World.  The weather is usually much cooler than during the summer, though it can still get hot on some days.  The crowds will also be less than during the busier times of the year and there are two special events that historically take place in October:
    • Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival
    • Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

The International Food and Wine Festival is included as part of your admission to Epcot.  It's a lot of fun if you enjoy trying new foods.  I recommend visiting on a weekday as opposed to a weekend as a lot of locals love the festival!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is my favorite hard ticketed event in the Magic Kingdom.  You have to buy a separate ticket for the Magic Kingdom, but I think it is worth it.  Trick or treating in the theme park is a blast.  Most kids will be in costume (and a lot of adults too).  There's also a special parade and fireworks show.

I hope this helps!  Write back with more questions!
