Hi, there!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amy. I'm so glad you stopped by! We're happy to answer any questions you have about the vacation you're planning.
One of my favorite things about the Walt Disney World Resort is that the magic is perfect for Guests of all ages, even
little ones! As a mom of three, I just love how many
family-friendly attractions there are in the theme parks that we can all experience together. These attractions don't feature height requirements and appeal to Guests of all ages.
Na'vi River Journey is definitely a family-friendly attraction! While it
is dark, the boat ride through the bioluminescent rainforest is gentle, and the music is calming and beautiful. My 2-year old is mesmerized by the exotic plants and creatures on this attraction, and I think your little one will be too!
Some
"dark attractions" may be frightening for tiny Guests, but my toddlers have always been fine on them. I've found that my little ones have been too young to have a frame of reference that would make them scared, so we've been able to focus on the silly elements of these attractions! For examples, on Pirates of the Caribbean, we try to spot the funny pigs in the mud and on Haunted Mansion, we look for the fancy ghosts spinning in circles.
For attractions that your son is just
too little for, be sure to use
Disney's Rider Switch. This convenient service makes it possible for families to take turns experiencing popular
thrill attractions without experiencing multiple wait times!
I hope this was helpful, Amy. Please let me know if you have any other questions about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
