We are planning a trip for November or December of 2026. Wondering if we book it now if we can switch dates if needed since flight information is not available yet. Is there any additional cost to switch dates or fairly easy?

    Hi Grace,

Welcome to planDisney! I always say it’s never too early to start planning your Disneyland vacation, and you’ve come to the right place for your 2026 Disneyland trip.

If you’re looking to book a vacation package that includes a stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels and park tickets, I recommend calling the Walt Disney Travel Company. This is a complimentary service Disney provides to help guests plan their trips. A Cast Member can help you create your dream vacation package. They’re available daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM (PST) at (714) 956-6425.

December is still a ways off, and sometimes plans change when it comes to Disney vacations. I spoke with a friendly Cast Member at the Walt Disney Travel Company, and they confirmed the current policies for me:

    * If you need to cancel your trip 30 days or more prior to your check-in date, there is no penalty.
    * If you cancel between 29 and 4 days before arrival, there is a $200 cancellation fee (fees are subject to change).
    * Cancellations made 3 days or less prior to check-in are nonrefundable.

There’s a bit more flexibility when it comes to modifying your reservation. You can modify your trip up to 4 days prior to check-in. Keep in mind that rates may change depending on your new travel dates, and you’ll need to pay any difference. Additionally, availability may be limited if you’re trying to make changes close to your check-in date. Emergency changes (3 days or less before check-in) must be handled through Guest Services. You can reach the vacation package line at (714) 520-5060.

I recommend making your hotel reservations as soon as possible, since December is a popular time to visit the parks. With so much lead time, you’ll also have flexibility to find the perfect flight for your trip. I’d suggest planning for a relaxing arrival day; explore Downtown Disney or enjoy a nice meal at your hotel. That way, no matter when your flight arrives, you won’t feel like you’ve lost time in the parks.

I hope this was helpful, Grace! I have plenty more advice on how to maximize your time in the parks or enjoy the Holidays at Disneyland Resort, so please come back with more questions. We here at planDisney are always happy to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your family’s next Disney adventure.

    Happy planning!
